A Dog Named Sweetie

A raspy bark to garner attention,
A hop and a skip at a walk's mention,
A soft nose with a bubbly texture,
A tiny paw, size too small to measure.
Her cheerful grin fills one's soul with laughter,
For she is laughing too, laughing as a sister,
A sister for whom, she would love there after,
A companion never, a friend forever.
At a ripe old age, she rests in warmth,
Engulfed by the sun, of which she was fond,
A twinkle in her eye, an unbreakable bond,
Lying satisfied in her forever home.
And now we remember, with blissful glee,
The Miss Kim lilacs in the summer breeze,
Tickling her snout, which sniffed so free,
A life so sweet, for a dog named Sweetie.
