Eternal Longing

My heart rips and shreds itself into a million pieces,
Each crying out for just one chance,
To gaze into her eyes again, to see her bright smile,
To wrap myself in her warmth, to feel her in my skin.
This eternal longing keeps me awake,
As I think of all the beautiful times past,
Of long walks, in winter's cold embrace.
With nothing but the fire in our souls to keep us solace.
Of steamy nights spent in sweet ecstasy,
Devouring each other in a perfect harmony.
Of mornings spent in quiet bliss,
Waking to the sound of soft breathing, of still hearts.
As arms extended, she fits ever so delicately in,
Like the last piece of a puzzle you have been trying to complete all your life.
As this lonely night wears on,
This eternal longing keeps me awake.
I dream of her soft kiss on my cheek,
Like a petal slowly falling in a gentle breeze,
The feeling of her smooth skin on my chest,
The finest China does not compare, the silkiest cloth pales in comparison,
Her tender caress, her supple bosom,
Her entire being, her opulent aura.
This never ending dream prolongs,
This eternal longing goes on, with each beat of my heart,
With many a tear shed, I hope for the day,
My lover comes home to me, and takes this eternal longing away.
